KJHS Tardy Policy
5 or more tardies to the first period of the day- 45 minute After School Consequence (ASC). Parents will be given at least one day notice prior to their students ASC. Students who do not attend their ASC will have it doubled and if that is missed they will earn a day of In House Suspension.
Students who have 5 or more tardies will also be a part of the Tardy Club for six weeks. Students who are on the Tardy Club list may not attend dances, after school sporting events or other school activities that are not directly related to the general curriculum.
Students who are tardy to the 2nd or 3rd block of the day will automatically receive an After School Consequence. On their 2nd tardy of this type the student will be placed on the Tardy Club list.
Random tardy sweeps- On random, unannounced mornings, the Administration of KJHS will conduct “tardy sweeps”. When the 8:15 bell rings- all tardy students will report to the library to serve an immediate consequence.
All consequences for tardies will be entered in the student’s discipline record.
KJHS Dance Rules Dance starts at 6:00 pm- doors close at 6:30 and no students will be admitted after. If you are going to be later than 6:30, you must inform the school prior to the dance so arrangements can be made KJHS Dress Code will be enforced- check page 6 of your planner for details Students who are absent, on the loss of privilege list, suspended or in IHS the day of the dance are not eligible to attend the dance Students who are leaving the dance early must inform the school in writing prior to the dance and must be picked up by their own parent- we will not release a student early to walk home or meet their ride somewhere else Dance ends at 8:30 pm- students must be picked up no later than 8:45 Students who are not picked up by 8:45 may not be eligible to attend the next dance School Meeting Calendar: Kenilworth School Site Council- 1st Thursday of the month @ 2:45 ELAC (English Language Advisory Council)- 1st Thursday of the month @ 7:00 PTSA- 2nd Wednesday of the month in the library @ 7:00
